Research consultant for the project Global alternatives for the reduction of neonicotionids

A synthetic review and expert consultation was carried out that assessed the actual risks posed by arthropod pests in four major crops, identified targets for integrated pest management (IPM) in terms of cultivated land needing pest control and gauges the implementation “readiness” of non-chemical alternatives to neonicotinoids.

Within the ERANET C-IPM project assess the IPM tools available to address minor use of pesticides in Europe. Carry out a literature review, validate the results with stakeholders at workshops. Identify research priority areas for EU funding project calls.

Develop a training module and training material for Training of Trainers (ToT) to be used for farmer field school (FFS) on the application of IPM. Preform ToT on IPM, support the organization of FFS. Support the assessment of cropping systems regarding the level of adoption of IPM.
I was working as a Junior Technical Officer for Plant Production and Protection at the Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia in Budapest, Hungary between 2012-2014. My main activities are related to support the normative work of FAO in the region as well as project management and implementation. The projects that I was involved with were the following: TCP/GEO/3401 Support the development of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system for the control of fall webworm (Hyphantrea cunea) in Georgia;
TCP/ARM/3401 Support the development of Integrated Pest Management (IPM) system for the control of mole and potato moth in Armenia; TCP/MOL/3302: Moldovan seed sector development in the scope of climate change and disaster risk mitigation TCP/MCD/3401: Updating the National Strategy for Organic Agricultural Production for the period 2012-2017 (2012) /Macedonia/; GCP/RER/040/EC Improving capacities to eliminate and prevent recurrence of obsolete pesticides as a model for tackling unused hazardous chemicals in the former Soviet Union. As part of normative work, international treaties and conventions (IPPC, Rotterdam Convention, etc.) are acknowledged for standard setting and implementation.

Scope I contributed to both national and international projects such as ENDURE Network of Excellence, EU 6. Framework Program (Work Maize-Based Arable Cropping System Case Study, Exploitation of landscape and community ecology, Training and education), ALAP-00052/2004 GAK national research project (Development of IPM strategies in greenhouse sweet pepper), FAO GTFS/RER/017/ITA IPM for WCR in CEU (Contribution to Farmer Field School Activity in Hungary, facilitator of farmers group). I also took part of educational activity by giving lectures, developing learning material, supervising MSc students.
